Blue Sky Farm

My blogging posts and photos are part of me . I think of this as a scrapbook of my life. The names have not been changed.. they are real people who have crossed my path along my journey. Some I know intimately, my family and friends. If their names are mentioned it's a sure sign they are special to me and I love them dearly...come along see for yourself, perhaps you know some of them too..

Easy as 1 ~ 2~ 3 ~ Enjoy

I had to try this recipe that Debbie "bushelnpeck" from Nevada posted on the MaryJanesFarmgirl Connection website. It was so simple to make and that's what I liked 1~2~3 Easy, my kind of making a cake. I liked it mostly because it was a single "Big " serving and I have none left to tempt me more tomorrow, except I could make another... couldn't I?

The 1st photo is the uncooked mix ready to mirowave, the 2nd is in the microwave at the end of the 3 minutes and the last is ready to serve. I used M&Ms instead of chocolate chips & it was yummy! A dollup of whip cream would have pushed it to Perfection.

I called my daughter Nancy who has a blog too and gave her the recipe which she also made, we were kind of having a cook off and taste test, She tried it with 3 different chocolates. Go to her site http://myhomecook-n.blogspot.com/ to read her review.
5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
4 Tablespoons flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips
(optional)a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well. Add the egg and mix well... pour the milk and oil and mix again...add chocolate chips if using and vanilla extract and mix again...put mug in microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (may need adjusting) the cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed. Allow to cool a little and tip out on plate if desired...this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.

A very nice little cake- quick and easy. Just a quick note: I baked my first cake in a 1200 watt microwave. The 3 minute directions provided in this blog are for a 1000 watt and it was too long for my oven. If your microwave is 1200 watts, I recommend cooking for 2 minutes and then add more time as needed.

Good suggestion. I forgot to say that, I cooked mine for about 2 min 40 sec.
Thanks Nancy

What a good idea, this would come in handy for a lot of people that only want a bit. How did it taste?

The recipe is one worth trying out. I came to your blog because I saw your blog name at Paula's Fraker Farm, and wondered if you were in THE K. Falls of my family! Yes, you're from Klamath Falls where my parents were from, where my grandparents lived and cousins still live. I lived in Klamath Falls for awhile and we spent at least a week or two there many summers. I went to 6th grade there , many years ago.Klamath Falls still recalls the word "home' for me even though the Pacific Northwest has been home for at least 37 years. Thanks for the trip back home.
