Blue Sky Farm

My blogging posts and photos are part of me . I think of this as a scrapbook of my life. The names have not been changed.. they are real people who have crossed my path along my journey. Some I know intimately, my family and friends. If their names are mentioned it's a sure sign they are special to me and I love them dearly...come along see for yourself, perhaps you know some of them too..

A lot happens in a year and a half

Wow! I have been re inspired to blog again.. A lot has been going on in my simple farm life since my last post.  I'm not sure how I got so far away from it..
So I will begin with January 2015
I went to my annual mammogram appointment and results showed a suspicious lump.. One I had discovered just a week prior.... After ultrasounds needle biopsy, more ultrasound treatments I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer! Oh my.. Of course I was shocked!  These things just aren't supposed to happen to me...well long story short after waiting for test results March 5 th I had a mastectomy.  Quite an alarming situation... I then had an expander placed to prepare for reconstruction June 5.
Another journey I had never taken.. I'm waiting for the next step.. Filling the expander with saline solution a few times to reconstruct the breast.. Pain? Oh  hell yes... Tingling,? yes , numbness? Yes
I am cancer free!!!! My type of cancer had not affected any  lymph nodes so no radiation nor chemo.
Yay!!! And I'm doing pretty good today. Thanks to the love and support of my husband, children, other family members and the greatest friends helping and praying for me.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I can celebrate Independence Day as well as being cancer Free!!!
Until next time friends... Play safe and ladies don't forget to get your yearly breast exam.
