Blue Sky Farm

My blogging posts and photos are part of me . I think of this as a scrapbook of my life. The names have not been changed.. they are real people who have crossed my path along my journey. Some I know intimately, my family and friends. If their names are mentioned it's a sure sign they are special to me and I love them dearly...come along see for yourself, perhaps you know some of them too..

Over the river & through the woods...

This morning Clay & Buster & I took a short  drive to possibly catch some pictures of  trees still with their colorful foliage but it appears where we drove along the marsh area called Eagle Ridge we were too late. Most of the migrating birds were even gone.... I had to stop and capture it while Buster wandered sniffing all the smells of the woods. This picture does remind me of a childhood drive my family took to my grandma & grandpas home for Thanksgiving. .We would sing "over the river and through the woods..as we drove along".. The weather was still nice enough to walk a bit without a coat.. Do you have these moments when something sparks a memory of your childhood?

What a pretty place. Wish I could have been there instead of at home catching up with laundry.

Oh Cherly, that photo is gorgeous and YES there are places, photos and even smells that can conjure up memories from long ago. Sometimes that's good and sometimes not so good! LOL! I love the good ones though of loved ones that have passed on and my childhood memories...THE BEST! What a great area you live in.

Funny thing about memories....seems I don't have many. Not kidding. I remember very little from my childhood. But, then again, I remember very little from about a month ago!

Wonderful picture - I felt as if I was there but here I am with three layers and a hat pulled over my ears tight - blowing snow and cold.

What a great snapshot in time for you.

My memories were more not over the river, but the river over the banks. Most often it flooded at Thanksgiving where I grew up. Luckily we were always warm and dry in the house. That is a lovely picture and great to get out and walk.

Oh yes, mostly smells or a song, for me. I find ironing very soothing and it takes me back to my childhood, about 8 years old or so. My dad was in Vietnam and life was not good. I'd go to our neighbors apartment and she would let me iron her pillow cases. To this day I still iron all my pillow cases. It relaxes me.

Cheryl, although my childhood was what some call "messed up" I do focus on the good things that happened to me. Forgive them, they know not what they do....:)JP
