Blue Sky Farm

My blogging posts and photos are part of me . I think of this as a scrapbook of my life. The names have not been changed.. they are real people who have crossed my path along my journey. Some I know intimately, my family and friends. If their names are mentioned it's a sure sign they are special to me and I love them dearly...come along see for yourself, perhaps you know some of them too..

Button up your overcoat...

I found my winter felted wool hat, a pair of gloves and my crazy socks.... Batten down the hatches, The wind and snow is coming again and not just a dusting. Another 3-5 inches expected tonight. Doesn't the sky look cold and bleak?  We are warm and toasty bracing for the next  Winter Blast. If you go to the kitchen you can see what this "hen's been cookin"... It's going to be good with dinner tonight.  My kitchen smells so homey and warm too. Bundle up if you are getting this Arctic Blast and keep those fires burning..& have a hot cup of something..You can make  mine a brandy!

How fun, I'd love to have a cup of brandy with you on a cold evening. It certainly looks cold out that way. I bet your house smells great from dinner. Enjoy the "indoor" time :)

It is snowing again here in Keno. If you are to get 3-5 inches, then we may get a lot more up here.

I have a whiskey sitting by my elbow as I contemplate going out to lock up the chicken girls for the night ...

Stay warm and cozy

Okay girlfriends....I live in Arkansas now and it was 60's today but I used to live in Iowa and had a little farm and when I would come home from work I had to change clothes and go out in blizzards and everything to feed my "loved ones" but FIRST I would fix myself a Black Bart to keep me warm....you cannot even be cold after drinking one of these...here it is:
a mug of hot chocolate (I recommend Penzey's mix...THE best)
1 shot of spiced rum
1 Tbsp Grand Marnier or a cheaper knockoff
If you're not in a hurry you can top it with whipped cream (from the can) and some chocolate shavings.
I GUARANTEE you will stay warm! I would go down to the barn with my coat open and never even noticed it was cold out! LOL!

No snow here outside of Eugene, but bitter cold, rain, and winnnnnndy! I'll take a sip of that brandy, thank you very much as I snuggle in for the evening.
