Blue Sky Farm

My blogging posts and photos are part of me . I think of this as a scrapbook of my life. The names have not been changed.. they are real people who have crossed my path along my journey. Some I know intimately, my family and friends. If their names are mentioned it's a sure sign they are special to me and I love them dearly...come along see for yourself, perhaps you know some of them too..

Feeling under the weather......

I found this photo image and it describes exactly how I am feeling this week.. just plain Yukky! The weather isn't helping as its dreary and wet/snow/rain  and windy and cloudy and gray and will be for the entire coming week. I 'm sneezing coughing  and have no energy to do anything. I am curling up in a big chair with a book and taking naps, drinking fluids, hopefully resting my poor body back to a better me....and awaiting a  brighter day. This will pass, I am sure.,....I will be back posting by next week I hope... I wish the sun would at least shine *That always helps boost my mood.... Good thing I have nothing pressing to do this week.. Ahhhhchooooo! Pass the Kleenex please!

Spare time & Great shots

Clay & I have thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures  of eye catching scenes and stuff...These Photos are  from the land and sea. First picture is of small tide pool along the sea shore.

The second one is of a hillside that is eroding from rain water run off.

and  the flower is an ice plant a succulent on a beach trail.

We love taking photos along paths we take on our day trips. We don't always know where those will take us or when, but  really like the adventures and plan to take many journeys this Spring so come along with me while I capture Nature at its best.

Home with the girls...

I am  home!  I missed my blogging friends and thought of  you as I drove home. I returned yesterday.
I have not been near my computer for two weeks. I must say I was most relieved to drive on wet bare highway the entire trip of 550 miles. First thing after kissing my husband hello and petting Buster was to check on my girls.. they, I am sure missed me too...Well maybe not) but I really am glad to be home.. My mom is feeling better and hopefully she can come visit in a couple months when the weather is nicer. I visited with my sister and also my two daughters and a friend while away. I had hoped to find sunshine and warmer temperature here but it is still winter.. ugh! The sun is shining a few minutes today and then tiny snow flakes are mixed with rain in those not so fluffy white clouds, but the day still looks pretty and I was able to take a short walk about the farm before it started getting chilly.. I am in now for the afternoon and have corned beef cooking in the kitchen for dinner... now perhaps I can squeeze in a short nap..

Doing the Laundry

Doing the Laundry  is something  I really do not mind doing. I quite enjoy folding clothes and  I do plenty even though there are only two of us  to supply the dirty clothes. There is some small bit of therapy in it for me. I love the smell of fresh folded laundry and while I fold, my mind wanders to quiet times, simpler things.. family thoughts and to our future." ...and the aroma of  the laundry room as the washing machine comes to its final  spin is heavenly. .Do you feel  like this ? or am I just the  strange one? Whatever,  it makes me happy &  I do sometimes make my  laundry powder to save money and  find that also rewarding. I can hardly wait for the weather to stay sunny and warm long  enough to hang out my clothes on the clothesline. I think there is nothing nicer than  to crawl between clean bed when the sheets have been dried by the sunshineor to open the linen closet to fresh smelling  towels. I must go now, its time to fold the last load.

Look the Beach & Squirrels too!

"Hi ,  (Buster here) I am at the beach.. in Crescent City California.....&  I see a squirrel. He's right over there coming my way. I wish I didn't have this darn ol' leach attached to me..It's really getting in my way. I know, I know "all dogs must be on a leash" Who made that stupid rule? Well I didn't let it slow me down too much.. Here it comes! I see him going down in this hole..... Gee, I wish that hole was bigger...I can see him... I can almost  reach him.. "come out Squirrel.. let's play."

Well that didn't work... but I see some sea gulls on the beach.. maybe they want to play... No, they are too busy  soaking up the sun.. just my luck... It sure is a pretty  beach though. Look at this  sand. I really liked running on it.  This is the lighthouse  my Mom & Dad  thought was cool...  especially at nightfall when it was all lit up. I really  have had fun on our first  camping trip in our camper.

As you can see my Mom took lots of pictures of the beach from our campsite.. Did I tell you we were camped over looking the ocean?  Well blog readers,  I gotta go soak up some rays while its still warm.. and  ya know I just might get that squirrel to come play.  * tomorrow  my dad says we are going to go get some crab, I wonder if they'd  like to play with me?

Now That's a lot a Bull

A beautiful day at the fairgrounds today. We do not have any use for a bull, or cows or plan to get any, but we did enjoy going to see them this morning at the 51st Klamath Falls Annual Bull Show & Sale.

After watching them get a couple ready to show we went to and talking to a few owners we made our way to the  vendors tables for a bite to eat.

Several flavors of  Fresh beef jerky and Who could resist Fry Bread? Not me.

Hot Butter & Sugar Yum!

Tonight the Cattleman's Association will be serving a  New York Steak Dinner, That sounded good too but we already have dinner plans...so next year  we will have to give that a go.

I found the smallest pair of chaps I have ever seen.. Thinking of our two year old grandson and how cute he would look in these.) but of course  he is no cowboy  nor will he probably be one..But  a picture of him in them would be adorable.

I loved this display of rope too.. There is something about the smell of new rope and leather..I really like.

Sadly   we missed the working dog show last night , but the Rodeo is Sunday and that could be really fun to attend . We heard one of the local women  horse competitors was going to be participating in a bucking bronco riding competition. We do love the happenings of things going on here in our  farm  & ranch community of Klamath Falls.

Let's go Camping.... We are ready now

Okay, we made the big purchase and will be ready to hit the road. Many road trips will be planned this spring and summer for sure. This girl is a "Happy Camper." No more tent, or competing to keep warm in weather that offers rain, wind or pesky mosquitoes.. I think We made a great purchase. The camper has everything we possible could need to enjoy our ventures.. The next few days we will transfer the old camping equipment into their new home. Then off we will go for our "maiden trip". Possible early next week for a couple days. I am sure there will be many campfire stories to share with my faithful blogger followers, so stay tuned...

Crater Lake

This was our destination today, since it was such a pretty day. Here buster & I posed for the photographer husband. Can you smell the fresh crisp air?  A perfect day to capture Crater Lake. The Lodge will open in the Summer again but as you can see the snow is quite heavy and almost covers the building.   Really Lots of snow and a sight to behold in the mountains. Many people there today sledding, snowshoeing and taking photos too.   We snapped a few pictures of scenery and barns, I have quite a collection now of interesting ones we come across on our excursions. Buster loved to play in the snow although he doesnt like to be leashed. He gets plenty of free time to check out the surroundings on our trips so dont feel sorry for him. He loves the attention however and will be ready for any sympathy or treats along the way.

DAY DREAMING

One of theses days I will be sitting in my very own hammock. I dream of a perfect day to be here. Since I have been retired I have wanted one of these. I keep busy during the day and I am never bored, a lot of crafting and day dreaming really of summer coming. When spring comes and the garden calls me to prepare the ground and plant my seeds, I will be wanting to sit at the end of the day and relax.. Retirement allows so much time to do just this, No clocks to wind for early wakes ups. I kind a like that..( I still wake early ) The mornings are so pretty and fresh. I have added the camper to my "bucket list "and as I slowly cross off the accomplishments I started a few years ago I am determined this year, yes It is on the top of my list. I would also have to win the lottery to afford Everything I have on my list, but for now a few luxuries I can enjoy and a hammock I think will be the perfect purchase. I can take it along with me when we go camping don't you think?
